Begining in 2020
The Schuylkill River Greenways National Heritage Area announced a strategic partnership with Take It Outdoors Adventures in June of 2020.
The unique relationship aligns with Schuylkill River Greenways’ mission to connect people to the remarkable resources of the Schuylkill River and Schuylkill River Trail. Take It Outdoors provides boat rentals, a free bike share, shuttle services and educational programming. Through the partnership, individuals, families and small groups have the opportunity to enjoy paddling on the Schuylkill, group excursions, education and tons of unique events highlighting the Schuylkill River.

Partnership Events
TIO & SRG host many events together throughout the year. Here are a few of our favorites.
Schuylkill River Sjourn
The Schuylkill Sojourn is our biggest event of the year! We host 200+ paddlers from all over for a 7 day paddle trip starting in Schuylkill Haven, and ending in Philadelphia.
Pedal & Paddles
These events are hosted by SRG throghout the summer and highlight a different section of the river each time. These events are a combination of biking the Schuylkill River Trail and Paddling the Schuylkill river.
Educational Events
Throughout the summer, SRG and TIO host various outdoor based educational opportunities for all ages. From camps to community events, there are many ways to connect and learn.
