First Friday Paddles

Upper Perkiomen

Join us on the seldom paddled section of the Perkiomen Creek from below Green Lane Park down to Spring mount for a four mile paddle.  This section is filled with remnants of old damns that add a little bit of features to meander through and around on this section.   This paddle is beginner friendly, but having kayaked a couple times before would be advised.  The put in on this section is very steep and not recomended for people who have any mobility issues.
This section of the creek is very water level dependent so it is always a possibility that it could be canceled due to low water.

Meeting Location: Foy Park

Lower Perkiomen

This section of the Perkiomen Creek opens up a bit and gives paddlers a bit more room around islands, features and those pesky rocks.  It wouldn’t be the Perkiomen if we didn’t have to worry about a couple rocks and running our boats on the bottom.  There is also one small damn that we have to get out of our boats to step over.   While you may get hung up on a rock once of twice, the beauty of this section is worth the effort.
Meeting Location:  Red Fox Park

Lock 60 to Betzwood

This paddle starts at Lock 60 Recreation Area and ends about 8 miles downriver at Betwood Access.  While most of this section is calm and easy going there are two fun features left by the remnants of dams that are sure to splash a little bit of water into your lap.
Meeting Location: Betzwood Access
