Dauphin Narrows

Dauphin Narrows, Susquehanna River

The Dauphin Narrows
June 29th 8:00 am

Join us for a day on the middle section of the Susquehanna River. We will paddle the river between Haldeman Island and Marysville. In this section we will paddle past the Pennsylvania Statue of Liberty, through the Dauphin Narrows, and stop on an island beach for lunch. The Susquehanna is a unique river; at almost a mile wide at some points, it provides a beautiful paddling experience. We will cover a total of ten miles with the group.

We will begin our day at TIO HQ in Pottstown, followed by an hour and a half drive to our put in. The river in this section is a blend of slow and gently moving water with a few ripples. If water levels are right, we will have the chance to paddle through and around boulder fields. Please pack a lunch and plenty of hydration to take with you for this adventure.
This river section can be shallow and rocky. Boats less than 11 feet long, skin on frame, inflatable, folding and other less durable boats are not appropriate for this event. Contact us if you have any concerns about your boat.

$65 event fee includes round trip transportation from Pottstown to the Susquehanna River, certified guides, logistics, and emergency preparedness. Rentals equipment is available for $30 (Incudes: Kayak, PFD, Paddle, and Whistle) when you complete your registration.
