“From its source at Fairfax Stone, high in the Appalachian Mountains, to Point Lookout on the ChesapeakeBay, the mighty Potomac River winds its way through 386 miles of Americana……..Native Americans knew it as the Patawomeke, and in 1608 Captain John Smith plotted its path for European settlers. George Washington was born, lived, and died along its banks.”
We will see only a small piece of this treasure filled with historical landmarks and natural beauties, but every mile of our 40 plus mile paddle is sure to be memorable.
