Black Friday Paddle (7th Annual)- Brandywine River #OptOutside

November 24 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm UTC-5

Black Friday Paddle with Take It Outdoors Adventures

Are you tired of the over commercialism of the holiday season? If so join us this Black Friday and paddle the Brandywine Creek and escape the madness. This section of river is one of my favorite local paddles. While people are fighting over parking spots at the mall we will be paddling down a scenic, secluded, windy and quite little river. For the post paddle we will head into the Victory Brewery so we can enjoy some good food and warm up with some quality craft beer.

We will meet at 10:00am in the parking lot of the Victory Brewery where we will consolidate people and cars into my van and trailer and then head down to the river. We will paddle about 10 miles so bring lunch and water.  We will have a drive so no need to wait in the cold while people shuttle cars back and forth.  After the paddle we will head back to Victory and enjoy some laughs, food and beer.

***This trip usually fills up.  YOU MUST CLICK ON THE LINK BELOW TO REGISTER.  CLICKING YES ON MEET UP DOES NOT RESERVE YOUR SPOT***

IMPORTANT!! – “NO SHOWS” are common place for Meet Ups but it makes planning very difficult.  The “No Shows” usually stem from the people that have never been on a TIOA trip.  Once you come out everyone usually realizes the sense of community and the hard work that goes into planning these trips.  We understand that emergencies, family issues, etc. come up but PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE don’t sign up unless this trip is going to be a priority plan.    It’s all about communication and respect.  Thank you!!

THE SCHUYLKILL CANAL ASSOCIATION NEEDS YOUR HELP
The volunteers of the Schuylkill Canal Association are asking for our help. This Saturday they need some volunteers to help fill sandbags. As a thank you for your help Sly Fox will give a free pint coupon to anyone who volunteers (must be over 21).

The SCA volunteers spend a lot of their personal time, tools and resources to keep the Canal operating...so when they ask for our help we try to do our part in order to keep the canal operating.

This latest project consists of construction of a bulkhead and floating dock at the portage on Schuylkill Canal. This project goal is to eliminate erosion of canal bank and allow safe and easy access to the canal for boaters.

Please email us at doug@takeitoutdoorsadventures.com if you plan on attending.

We plan on meeting at 9:00 a.m. at the Reynolds Dog Park:

Even if you can only give an hour...we appreciate all the help we can get.

Please come out and show your support of the SCA and our beloved Canal Park.

You don't need equipment...Just bring yourself and work clothes. Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Please supply us with your email address when you sign up just in case we are meeting at a different spot on the Canal.
